Bahamas Real Estate Market Update

The Bahamas MLS has been showing roughly 1 sale for every 10 listings added every week for the past months. At this time there are 2,279 active listings on the market listed on the BMLS. This does not include another 133 properties that are backlogged for approval and posting. Over the past 30 days the BMLS has posted 68 sale transactions beginning. These numbers provide what we call the absorption rate of the real estate market, i.e. how many properties the market will cater to. The absorption rate for the past 30 days indicates roughly 3% of all the real estate assets being promoted on the BMLS will see a sale over the next 30 days. What are your thoughts on a 3% absorption rate? is 3% sustainable in the automobile market? is 3% tenable in the commodities market? Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
